The Joy of Listmaking October 13, 2008

There’s nothing quite as gratifying as crossing a completed task off a to-do list. Whether it’s at work or at home, lists are how I manage my life and what I need to get done. When Amanda started her blog and created her 101 things list then I got jealous! She’s had a fun time working towards her list so I thought I’d create one too. It’s similar to having written goals, but more fun because it’s a list!

I’ve posted my list as a permanent page so it’s easy to find and update: http://tapirtantrum.com/101-things/. I’ll cross them off as I finish them, and also keep track of my overall stats (that’s what I do with lists).

What does this mean, 101 things in 1001 days? It means one thing every 10 days in order to finish them all! I’ve put several easy ones in there that I can do easily, or know I’m doing already. They really break down into a few categories:

  • Sports: Hiking, running, table tennis
  • Travel: New cities, states, countries
  • Beermaking
  • Food

It was actually quite difficult to come up with the full list. I tried to pick many things that will be a stretch, and others that would be fun to try and do. There are also several that I share with Amanda, so we can accomplish them together and ritualistically cross them off. This is exciting!
