About Me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Chuck Smith, and I live in San Diego. By day I’m an entrepreneur and software developer, working as the Vice President of Technology for TakeLessons, a great place to book private music and voice lessons.
By night and weekends I’m an avid homebrewer, world traveler, runner, biker, conservationist, and hiker. I’m involved in the Baird’s Tapir Project of Costa Rica, which studies these amazing creatures. I went to Corcovado National Park to see them in person! I love the outdoors, go hiking regularly, and wish I went backpacking more. My wife and I travel a few times a year and love to explore new cities by way of brewpubs. This inspires me to attempt my own brewing concoctions at home, including the famous Hibiscus Wit.
